Results
After putting on your Sunday best and hucking your stuff before the judges comes the long wait in anticipation of the results. For most competitions the results are based on a variety (what moves you perform) and a technical (the verticality of the move) mark. However, this may change from event to event depending on the feature or whether the organisers wish to use the official rules or just to have a fun or an experimental event in which to try an alternative format.
Below is a list of results from various domestic freestyle competitions around the country including the National Freestyle Kayak Championships and Team Selection Events. Results from international events can also be found here for competition that Irish freestyle paddlers have entered.
National Freestyle Kayak Championships 2008
Event 1 of the National Championships took place at Curragower Falls, Limerick over the weekend of the 5th &6th of April.
Thanks to the ESB and some recent rain the wave was working at a good level leaving no excuse for competitors.
With each competitor getting 4 rides (2 counting) each in prelims, the pressure was eased slightly, thus encouraging all competitors to go Big.
Each class was whittled down from prelims to semis (for the mens) to finals where the top 5 competitors had three rides to show what they got. With the best ride counting, this ensured that every competitor pushed past tiredness, the cold (plus an odd case of tendonitis) to unleash their all.
Euro Champs -Team Trial Results
Below are the points standings from the 3 Team Trial Event.
The Freestyle Committee will pick a team, to go to the European Championships 2008, based on these results and on any wildcard applications.
The Team will be announced as soon as it has been finalised.

Sluice Fun Rodeo Report
This years sluice rodeo went off on the 20th of May. And I must say I felt it went of great considering the circumstances. This rodeo was primarily aimed at those who wanted a fun rodeo without the pressures associated with the national ranking events. It has to be said that there were more new faces than old ones at this rodeo and for this I was glad, thanks guys for turning up it is great to see new faces in the sport once more.
