Congratulations to all the senior men who put on a great show today in Thun. The wave was working really well for all 20 of the mens heats. The heats started at 10am and it was 8.30pm before the last competitor was finished his run. The atmosphere in the stand was electric with the Irish and the French competing for loudest spectators. Neil and Moogie were the first up at 11.40am. All of the Irish team were in the stand singing the Fields of Athenry and cheering them on. Moogie put in some good consistent rides while Neil was unlucky to flush on some of his runs.

Next up was Bowsie who paddled extremely well with some solid rides. Again the Irish brought the house down with our cheering. Tom Donohoe paddled a stormer with some lovely pan ams and back stabs. Mark Leonard was the last of the Irish to paddle at 6.40pm. He was unlucky in his first two runs but managed to produce the goods for his last two runs with great variety and technical moves. Unfortunately none of the men made the cut to make it into the final 30 for the quarter finals. The competition was fierce and at the moment Nick Troutman is looking like the hot favourite with a winning score of 2,400 points!! Also looking good was EJ, Billy Harris and Steven Wright.

After a long day of cheering for the men, the juniors and ladies got on the water to take advantage of good water levels and put in some training. The juniors and C1 are up tomorrow so best of luck to Orky, Niall, Niamh, Emer, Tim, Coran and Rory.

Right I'm off to bed finally..more updates tomorrow

Jenny :-)
