The magnum 72 is way different to the Java, far more compact and very tidy around the river. Posibly one of the most under rated creek bosts out there.

Nigel - the Java's a heavy boat, no doubt about it. However, you can't really trust the quoted weights to be acurate on most boats so you should try any other option on the shoulder before writing it off by a quoted figure.
Those are some very different boats you've mentioned. Is weight really your no.1 priority? How many big walk-ins are you doing?!
Thanks. Yeah boat weight is the priority. Just personal preference, on and off the water.
I'd go with any of the 1st three on my list before any other, although the ammo gives up a lot of volume to the other two. I also looked at the fluid solo (looks like a lovely boat) and the eskimo salto (looks fun), both 18kg.
Granted, 'caveat emptor' applies when reading stats off a page.

Your not gonna get one of these boats for much under the €750 mark, unless it's beat.
May broaden the horizons a bit if you're lookin cheap. Small H3, MAC 1, Huka, Diesel.... Dunno what they weigh though
BTW it's the first time i've seen someone looking for a boat by it's weight, but each to their own I suppose. (I'll sell ya an 8 kg polo boat, €550 not much use in contact with rocks though)
