City of The Tribes Kayak Race - Sept 6th 2008
10th Annual City of The Tribes Kayak Race will be held on the River Corrib on Saturday Sept 6th 2008.
Experience the thrill of racing on home waters against the cream of Irish paddlers who will be travelling to Galway for this much-loved race on the open, scenic waters of River Corrib.
This year the race takes place exactly one week prior to the Liffey Descent making it ideal final preperation.
Venue: Start/finish at Fisheries Field, Galway City
Entries taken on the day from 12:00 till 13:30hrs
Entry Fee: Seniors €10 Juniors €5
Refreshments served afterwards
Race Start Time: First classes start at 14:00hrs
Three Courses to suit all abilities:
Fun Course, 2km, upriver to Corrib Village pontoon and back
Standard Course, 10.5km, upriver to Lake (Lough Corrib) entrance and back
Long Course, 15km, upriver to Lake via old river channel and back
