Boyne tree down
The S-Bend is still blocked by 2 x trees running diagonally from River Right wall into the water all the way across to river left. It's barely passable, but you would want to be on your top game...definitely not a path for a club trip. best bet is to run the weir above the S-bend...no problems in the current water levels!
ran the s bands yesterday, 5/10/08. no major difficulty. there is a clearing on river left of about 4ft, on exiting paddle towards the middle of the river as the low lying branches just past log on river left. on entering s bends you will see a small standing wave river left, this is where the log is coming out of the water, to left of that again is the way through.
if the wall at the play wave on stackallen is just slightly covered the s bends are no problem, on higher water a low crouch is needed, but again not that difficult.low water exposes a few rocks which may make it bit bumpy.
Thanks to who ever started on river left by cutting through trunk.
Tree 1 is still partly rooted in the river left bank but is now pointing down stream in the "eddy". The top is still sticking up but the run is clear. Watch out for tree 2 somewhere further down stream as I'm sure it will get caught again somewhere, when I was finished I checked that it didnt block the exit.

Hey guys.
Had a look at this today and it looks pretty nasty. Not only is there a new tree pinned across the old one in the tunnel but it is very crowded with trees at the entrance with low hanging trees.
