To all those who have been asking over the years about trying a C1, here's a great chance, as this is how I started . On 24th August there will be a selection of C1 and C2 wild water racing boats at WWKC for a come and try it day. 

 There will be a number of experienced C1 paddlers offering advice and coaching as well as kayakers who have never paddled with less than 2 blades.

Tracking(straight line paddling) is the usuall problem first timers have in a C1, but the racing boats are designed for straight line speed, instead of spinning, so it is far easier to get going.

So come along and try a C1 on your own, a C2 with a C1 paddler or a C2 with another novice. Check closer to the date for times......
