Additional roof rack items required?

Hello. I'll be transporting my kayak via the roof rack back and forth from the sea. Do I need something extra on the roof rack (besides the Kayak :-P) like some specific brackets or will just the roof rack suffice?

I would suggest you get your self sopme of these as sea kayak hulls are pron to being damaged by carring poorly on cars.
