What boat for the Liffey Descent - Suggestions

Hi Folks.
Any ideas on a boat for the liffey.
Paddled it once in a Nomad and said never again.........
Want something cheap as I'll probably only use it once a year and I won't be competing in the race - just enjoying the day out....

You need a Canadian a mate and some beers. Water might be run off by the time you get down but your not racing right
Never test the depth of the water with both feet.
