hey all, i went down to cliffden this weekend to the sea kayaking venue. i have to say it was a great weekend with lots to offer. there were various trips out around the different islands from novice to expert. loads of banter and entertainment. i started sea kayaking around two years ago in the summer when the river season comes to an end and find its a great way to paddle all year around in this country. also its great training for your river paddling as the boats are 18ft long and take quite a bit to control compared to your creeker or play boat especially in big swells or surf. anyway that's my pennies worth with all this dry weather what better excuse to hit the sea when there's no rain no big surf or no abroad trip planned, the sea is always there .
