Hi just wondering what peoples opinions are on gloves when kayaking and if so gloves with fingers or without fingers? And where can I get a good pair? willing to pay 30.00-40.00 euro.......
Thanks Sarah

we got these last year for canada and they were the absolute bomb. they dont effect your paddling at all really except your fingers are toasty for hours!

But how would you be able to get your deck off if the mitts covered your fingers??? My roll isnt exactly strong.

Actually i just noticed they do ones with fingers.. has anyone tried these? Conor did you buy yours in Canada or order them off the net? I don't want to have to pay duty/tax or whatever if possible

well the team (louis) got them so im not really sure. the idea of the mitt design is so you can feel your other fingers and it feels more normal than if you wear a glove with fingers. theres no problem getting the deck off with it on.

As an alternative to gloves, you could check out pogies:

oh ya, i have a pair of those too and they are good but the only problem is if you take your hand off the paddle the warm water gets out and its like getting bac into a wet wetsuit. they'd be grand for river running but not the best for playboating and messing about.

i bought a pair of these sharkskin CSR gloves last autumn in galway maritime for 20 yoys. they are a bit battered now but they are still fine. they are pretty warm and because the whole outside is rubber, it sticks to a paddle shaft far better than your bare hands ever would. and for the price they are great value.

not sure where else they are on sale....any CSR stockist. also try any yak/crewsaver stockist (same company)sharkskin gloves by CSR
