Peak UK 2008 creek cag

Wow....where do I start!

After nearly 3 months of solid boating I am super impressed!

I have been using Peak UK kit now for a numbe of years so when I decided to up grade early this year I was always going to lean more towards Peak UK over other manfacturers.

For a long time now Peak UK kit has always looked a little on the basic when compaired with some of the offerings from Palm and other such makers that come with all the "bells and whistles". This time round Peak have not decided to play sheep and make a dry top that is just a copy of what everone elso has on the market. They went away and came back with what I think is the best engineered "creek" dry top available on the market today! I realise that is a bold statement but I honestly think it's true.

I bought this dry top, sight onseen but I knew from the previous Peak stuff I had before and that this was there top of the range offering I wouldn't be going too far wrong.

The material (X4) is bomber, from the first time you feel it and wear it on the water you will know just what I mean by saying this. The fit and finish of the top is just what you would expect from any manfacture who are selling kit at this price. You can feel the quality of the garment the monent you pick it up.

The cut of the top feels just right, when you are boating no matter what kind of position you twist yourself into it never feels restrictive at all.

Most important it does what it is mentto do it is 100% dry and breathable!!!! This is a piece of kit I can see lasting the average weekend paddler for years and years to come! It just feels solid.

I would say this is prob the best bit of kit I have ever owned.

On a side note;

I would just like to make reference to theservice that i recieved from Colm and his team at i-canoe.com. I decided to purchass this top (Peak UK 2008 Creek Cag) on monday the 7-01-2008. I called Colm and told him I was planning to head away for 10 days boating at the end of the week and that I would be chuffed if I would havemy new cag in my kit bag with me. At this stage the 2008 stock hadn't even landed in UK shops yet alone in irish shops. Colm said he would see wat he could do, and tobe honest I wasn't expecting a whole lot. much to my suprise about a half hour later I got a call back from Colm saying he had been in touch with the folk of Peak Uk in Nottingham and that they had what I want and just put my name on one!

Over the next couple of days Colm even entertained my emails looking for updates on the where abouts of my dry top. Then on wednesday afternoon I got an email saying that my cag had arrived to i-canoe.com and was now winging its way down the country to me, he also included a postal tracking number so I track its progress en-route to me. Thursday morning arrived and TA DA so did my new cag.

This was the first bit of kayaking kit that I have ever purchassed on line and without seeing in person and I was more than a little sceptical about doing so. Colm and his team not only matched the I would expect from a regular store but surpassed it by miles!!!! I came to use i-canoe.com because the prices were so good but now I will continue to use them because they provided quiet simpaly the best service I have ever recieved from a shop. I cannot recomend them highly enough. And for anyone who doesn't like to shop on line I believe they now have a store you can call into. Also for any of out there (students etc) who do not have a credit card you can also pay online using your laser card.

For anyone who has read this far I'm sorry for waffling on. It just seems that in this day and age we are all more than happy to complain when we don't get what we want, But so few are willing to say well done when people do a good jod. Colm and his team at i-canoe.com deserve more than just a pat on the back for the fantastic job they do.

I have used i-canoe.con since my original purchass and the service was just as good.
