yeah, I,m 6ft and 100kg and need a new boat.

Like the look of the magnum but would need the big one.

Other options

Large Burn- waiting to demo this but heard you need to paddle positively to get the best out of it.

Jefe Grande- paddles like a dream but US boaters I met in Nz were all rubbishing the plastic

Nomad 8.5- you can never go wrong with dagger boats

Habitat 80- If anyones got one I'd really like a go

Large Solo - Worst boat I ever paddled

Mystic- tail happy if the seats back

I'm in the same situation as you, had a Magnum 70 but there just wasn't enough boat for me so I am getting a Magnum 80. They are set to arrive to Peak in next 5 weeks retailing at £ 799 but there is a very large possiblity of free shipping to Ireland if you reserve one before then, will know later today.

I'm sure the 80 will preform much like the 70. I found it the very easy to swap from paddling my play boat to magnum as in... even though its a creek/river boat it still preform/paddles like a playboat with any of the obvious drawbacks. If you want to hang on untill mine arrives you are more than welcome to Demo it.

As for the Nomad 8.5, you are pretty much safe as houses if you go for one of them, very fast, quiet agile for something so large, bomber plastic and you feel next to invincable when in it!

Haven't paddled any of the others but know a few guys with Jefes who are very happy with them.

Adrian just wondering how tall are u and do u fit in the magnum 72 or is the 72 the same as the 70?Because to be honest with you it dont know the riot range that well.Ye ive heard good reports about the nomad but Ive been told that unless your on big water its really boring boat.

Higie06,

Sorry my bad I men't the 72, In my limited experience in the Nomad your comment would be on the money, but then again it is an all out creek boat! And when the going gets proper tough there are few boats that do it so well!

As for room in the Magnum 72, I'm 6 1 with size 11 feet and have no space issues. this would be a combination of the boat hving a fair anount of room and years of squashing into tiny playboats, so everything else seems huge! The only reason I'm changing to bigger model is that I weigh in at 113kg so i'm just too heavy.

Have one dave g if you wanna bash based in Meath/Dublin.

hogie06 i'd say you're far too light for it. But spacewise you'd have no bother. 6 3ish myself around the 100kg mark.

Can't really comment on performance cus haven't had it a chance to get on anything harder than the annameo since i bought it, but i find it nice and manouverable.

Im around 15kg lighter then you and paddling a Mystic. mines lightened down, bit of extra plastic in footblocks ect. taken out.

Very nice boat, for me it was really confidence inspiring. outfiting is solid- and very adjustable, fast, boofs well, tracks very well. little bit edgy but thats easy to get used to, not as edgy as rad series. looks like it can take a few knocks and in my experience bliss-sticks can b mended fairly easily if the worst happens. to top it all off theres some nice colours avaible.

Its designed for bigger paddlers so sud try it out.
