JK allstar 2007 Vs Wavesport Project
JK allstar 2007 Vs Wavesport Project
What are the prices?
Anybody have any opinion's about the boat?
Also, where would i get my paws on a 2007 allstar?
I'm looking to buy in the next 2 weeks so any advice is greatly appreciated, i'm over the 90Kg mark, but only 5'10" so i can squeze my way into smaller boats. I was chatting to a guy at the sluice who said that a little bit extra weight over the volume spec won't do any damage... opinions?
Prices are way more than UK...why?

If you know someone coming back you could save E400.
Thanks lads, keep it coming,
has anybody paddled the allstar? I've heard very positive stuff about the wavesport, but the literature online seems to favour the allstar, particularly the 07 model.

you wont fit into the all star or the project 52 if you didnt fit in the agent 6.2.
Your best bet is to go for the larger size in both.
Theyre both top notch boats, you wont go far wrong with either of them.
Howdy,
By looking at your stats i'm pretty much the same size and weight as ya.
I had the 2007 All-Star for a while and paddled it quite a fair bit here in Ireland and also a good bit abroad. It was easy to use and did what i wanted.
However, i prefer to paddle waves mostly, and now have a Project 52, which rocks on waves, if you ever go to Gower or even in surf, you'll crave the extra speed the project has over the 2007 All-Star.
Project was also nicer when i paddled the same foreign spots and even handles the big water rapids fairly well.
There are plenty of both boats about and you should try demo them. I'll be in Limerick this weekend at Varsities with my project if you wanna have a go. Its set up for my size so you should fit.
Contact me through my profile if interested,

Unfortunatly i won't be headin to the varsities, i would have but i got stung for something on sunday, i'm leaning on the side of the project, i think i've seen one or 2 at the sluice, is it a comfy boat?
Anybody dislike the 52?

Hey there Quinner,
I have the 2007 allstar and am delighted with it. I am 6ft size 10 feet and 83 kg..... I find the boat the most comfortable one in the size range.
I too have paddled the Project 52 and while it is nice it is not as comfortable as the Allstar. I think the allstar is a better boat. There is so little between them it is hard to choose. If you would like to paddle the Allstar I will be on the Inny river on Sat running a level 3 assessment and so will be in my nomad. If you like you could tag along and try out my allstar.
Give me a bell on 086 2721245
Cheers
Alex
Just an update, i have a Project 52 demo courtesy of i-canoe, so many thanks for that lads,
I quite like it, i fit ok, but i need to adjust the thigh braces because my legs were a little squished. It handles very nicely, quite reactive, the little bugger will fly off on you. If will surf ok, not reacting too much to the edges though. I'm gonna play with it a little more, but i'm still on the hunt for a jackson allstar to try. Anybody know where i can demo one?

Courtesy of i-canoe whose project 52 demo i've have for the last 2 weeks, i'm picking up my new boat on sat. Thanks to everyone for the information, i still haven't tried the allstar but i'm happy with the project, it's fairly uncomfortable but i think when i kit it out it'll be much comfier
Rock on

You don't see a lot of JK boats around and plenty of projects.
I'd imagine for getting second hand or for selling on in the future, you'd have no trouble shifting a project.
Can't tell you much about how they paddle - but I imagine most advice will be to go for the project.
New prices are about the same...

Also worth thinking about is the new pyranha rev - I think mdac has one for demo now....
