i wouldnt be a fan of these below (see link) myself but it certainly makes things alot more interesting where ever your paddling. and according to the site make a "handy" set of splits! just make sure you dont break your splits!

Obviously paddle choice depends alot on what your gonna be doing more. I personal cannot give enough praise for werner! i have my player cranks over 3yrs now they have put up with a lot of hardship and they are still going strong i measures them last week they used to be 195cm they are now 187cm. ive seen plenty of other types of paddles broken but ive yet to see a set of werners broke!anyone else?
I was in the Great Outdoors today and they're now stocking these...

at 329Euro (i think), they're cheaper than a set of h2o-Team paddles. They also come in a straight shaft model which is around 50 or so Euro cheaper.
go here http://select-kayaks.com/en/paddles/kayak/w1/ for more info.
I got a set of those large hand paddles a good while back. I got on good in sluice with them but felt that they would have too much surface area for rivers(they can wrench the arms a bit at times) so i bought a set of the smaller ones.
Ive taken them out on a good few rivers over christmas and find them easy to use and great for improving certain boat skills. They also pack really well into the back of the boat and weigh far far less than splits.
In saying that they would be lacking where boat speed is an issue or say being caught in a stopper.
On the paddle issue my vote goes to the H20-2s great value paddle, very good warranty
wow that was a real fast response guys !! thanks... ok well just to clarify exactly what im lookin for in new set of blades... i have a rough stuff tempest at the moment... 198s... quite long for freestylin... so thatd be the first priority ... i want my blades to be short and well designed for freestyle.... crank shaft would definitely be a preference !! em and general durability i guess... if theres anythin extra you guys, or any1 else, would like to add knowin this extra info please reply... any other reccomendations ??
cheers again,
Moose
Heya Tom her, met ya b4 at gower. Your on team right? Id hold of buying anything a sec, ul prob b able to get a deal. Last year we got a H20 offer for 120 quid. Im using a Team 192 for play but bit taller den ya, find out on net wat size suits. Got the 2 for rivers in 197. Sweet blades. Grips make em and ther a bit flexy so ya wont do as much ligament damage training when ya pushing yourself. Mabey give Colm a shout.
IL se ya at nationals
well tom !! wassup !! havent seen ya in aggges !!
oh right i didnt no there was a possibility of gettin a discount for bein on the team !! sweeet !! well yea the h20s seem to be regarded as a pretty damn gd set of blades... but if i can get em for cheaper ill hold off for sure !!
til the nationals,
Moose

Go for them you won't be sorry. All the manufactures will claim theirs are the best blades and some may be better than the H2O but when it comes to value for money and reliability the H2O's can't be beat.
I reviewed them on the site i bought them from see here
