My two kids are just getting into paddling...so I'm on the lookout for 2 reasonably priced starter junior boats for river running and a bit of beginner surfing.

Boy 9 (4' 8") 68lbs, Girl 11 (5'1") 95lbs - both are lightly built. Any help, suggestions or leads would be appreciated.

Cheers

Andy

PS I'm near Derry.

Hey Paul....

I've got a Inazone 212 for sale....Its in fairly good condition, just the usual scratches.....Its perfect for a kid starting out.....Its a prety small boat so if anyone else was intrested they'd have to be fairly small....great boat though....looking for 450 for it.....

Also know of a jackson fun 1 for sale.....not sure of the price....its prety much brand new so it could be expensive....

Hi Paul

Thanks anyway but his instructor says it'd be better if he had a longer boat for river running....maybe next year.

I'll put the word around up here for anyone wanting a witch

cheers

Hey Andy,

don't know your or the other guy or your kids but was just having a read through this thread... you might double check with your instructor again that he is not mixing things up, the Witch is bigger than an EZG42, similar in size to an inazone 220/222 (just checked, it's 221cm!).

I had one for a couple of years, and it's a great boat. I'm 5ft 9", 130lb, and it was definitely not too small at all at all.

So nothing constructive to add really, but I'd hate to see someone miss out on a good deal cause of confusion!

Thanks Muireann

I think he was talking about the length of tail to keep the boat straight in the river and thought the witch would be a little too short or swept so difficult for a beginner...but I will quiz him again at our next pool session..so many boats..so many types...its a maze for the beginner...
