Great Outdoors Canoeing Achievement Awards

Now is the time to mark our achievements across canoe-sport. An award ceremony will be held on November 24th at our competition coaching weekend. It is proposed that we honour the major accomplishments in the past year with a perpetual trophy for each category and a plaque for the recipient.The Categories are:

  • Paddler of the Year
  • Junior Paddler of the Year
  • Club of the Year
  • Coach/Instructor of the Year
  • Outstanding Contribution to Canoe SportOutstanding Supporter of Canoe Sport

Perpetual trophies, which are exquisite Dublin crystal trophies, provided by individual sponsors who include Brendan O'Connell, Celbridge Paddlers, Richmond Canoe Club among others. Each individual award winner will receive a specially engraved Dublin crystal plaque commerating their achievement. A short-list of three in each category will be invited to attend the ceremony at 6.30pm on the 24th of November.Nominations for the awards can be sent via email to canoeingawards@gmail.com The nomination should be less than 200 words and detail why you feel they deserve the award. For the paddler of the year awards, either a team or an individual can be nominated. An independant panel, comprising people experienced in canoe-sport and drawn from across the disciplines, will short-list the candidates.
